Building Strong Roots, For Stronger Futures
Our Offer & Who We Support
At StrongRootz Project, we provide targeted, school-based mentoring and early-intervention support designed to promote safeguarding, inclusion, and positive educational outcomes. We work in partnership with schools and families to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive, both academically and emotionally.
We support a diverse range of students, including those with social, emotional, and mental health needs who may experience anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, or difficulties in social interactions. Our mentoring helps these students develop coping strategies, resilience, and self-regulation skills to improve engagement and wellbeing.
Our programmes also support pupils facing attendance barriers, including those with persistent absence or disengagement from school. Through tailored mentoring, we help students re-engage with education, improve punctuality, and build consistent participation in learning.
We provide targeted support for students with behavioural and emotional regulation needs, particularly those whose behaviours may be linked to unmet needs. Our interventions focus on developing positive behaviour, self-control, and conflict resolution skills, enabling students to interact successfully with peers and staff.
StrongRootz Project also works with students at risk of exploitation or criminal activity, including Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), and county lines involvement. Our early-intervention programmes and safeguarding-focused mentoring aim to reduce risk, build protective factors, and support students in making safe choices.
We provide care and guidance for students who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse, offering emotional support, safety planning, and resilience-building to help them navigate challenging circumstances. Additionally, we support young people affected by contextual safeguarding concerns, such as serious youth violence, gang involvement, or other environmental risks, ensuring that they receive consistent mentoring and guidance to stay safe and engaged.
Our services are delivered through one-to-one mentoring, small group sessions, and structured early-intervention programmes. All our work is aligned with best-practice frameworks, including the SEND Code of Practice, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), and the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework. We work closely with schools, families, and wider agencies to ensure coordinated support and measurable impact, helping every student build strong roots for a stronger future.
Building Strong Roots, For Stronger Futures
We believe that every young person, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the potential to grow, thrive, and succeed. Every child deserves a champion, and our role is to provide that support through tailored one-to-one and group mentoring, alongside targeted early-intervention strategies. We work closely with schools, families, and relevant agencies to ensure that every intervention is personalised, equitable, and aligned with safeguarding and inclusion frameworks. By addressing barriers to engagement, attendance, and wellbeing, we strengthen protective factors, foster personal development, and empower each student to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Persistent & Severe Absentees
We work closely with schools to support pupils who are persistently or severely absent by addressing the underlying barriers to attendance rather than focusing solely on compliance. Through consistent mentoring, relationship-based support, and close collaboration with families and professionals, we help young people rebuild trust in education, improve engagement, and develop the confidence needed to return to learning. Our approach recognises that sustained attendance improvement comes from understanding each pupil’s circumstances and providing tailored, early intervention support that leads to long-term positive outcomes.
Behaviour Challenges
We support students with behavioural challenges by focusing on the why behind the behaviour, not just the behaviour itself. Through relational mentoring and tailored interventions, we help young people develop emotional regulation, positive coping strategies, and stronger decision-making skills. By working in partnership with schools and families, we support improved classroom engagement, reduced incidents, and more positive, sustainable outcomes that enable students to succeed both academically and socially.
Social, Emotional, Mental Health Support
We provide targeted support for students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs by creating safe, trusted spaces where young people feel heard and understood. Through consistent mentoring and early intervention, we help pupils develop emotional literacy, resilience, and healthy coping strategies that support their wellbeing. Working closely with schools and families, our approach strengthens engagement, improves emotional regulation, and enables young people to better access learning and achieve positive long-term outcomes.
Child Criminal Exploitation
We work proactively with young people who are at risk of or affected by child criminal exploitation (CCE), using early intervention and trusted mentoring relationships to reduce vulnerability and increase protective factors. Our work focuses on re-engaging pupils with education, building self-worth, and helping them recognise and navigate risks safely. By working in close partnership with schools, families, and safeguarding professionals, we support timely intervention that helps disrupt pathways into exploitation and promotes safer, more positive futures.
Child Sexual Exploitation
We work closely with students who are identified as being at risk, providing early intervention and tailored support before challenges escalate. Through consistent, trusted mentoring relationships, we help young people navigate complex personal, social, and environmental pressures that may be impacting their engagement, wellbeing, or safety. By working in partnership with schools, families, and external agencies, we strengthen protective factors, reduce risk, and support students to remain engaged in education, make safer choices, and move towards more positive long-term outcomes.
County Lines Exploitation
We support students who are at risk of county lines exploitation through early intervention, trusted mentoring, and a strong safeguarding focus. Our work centres on building protective factors by strengthening relationships, improving school engagement, and helping young people understand and navigate risks safely. We work closely with schools, families, and safeguarding partners to identify concerns early, reduce vulnerability, and disrupt pathways into exploitation. By providing consistent, trauma-informed support, we help students feel safer, more connected, and better equipped to make positive choices that protect their education, wellbeing, and future life chances.
Domestic Violence & Domestic Abuse
We support students who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence or domestic abuse by providing safe, consistent, and trauma-informed mentoring. We recognise the profound impact that exposure to domestic abuse can have on a young person’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement with education. Through trusted relationships, we help students feel heard, develop healthy coping strategies, and rebuild a sense of safety and stability. Working closely with schools, families, and safeguarding professionals, we tailor our support to reduce emotional distress, strengthen resilience, and enable young people to re-engage with learning and achieve more positive long-term outcomes.
